I have been quilting since I moved to Newent in Gloucestershire almost 20 years ago. My interest in quilting was encouraged by local quilters who invited me to join Newent Quilters. This friendly and welcoming group taught me the basics of quilting and I learned so much through the many workshops I did with them. I further developed my knowledge by studying City & Guilds in Creative Textiles to Level 3.
I bought The Patchwork Basket in Newent in 2017 and really enjoy running a quilt shop. We stock a large variety of fabrics from traditional to contemporary. We run workshops throughout the year with visiting teachers both local and internationally known. I also teach weekly classes for beginners, improvers and for lovers of hand sewing. My wish for customers at my shop is that they find a space to explore their creativity and gain confidence in their ability. This is what Newent Quilters gave me when I first started quilting and I want visitors to my shop to feel this way too.
